Milk Supply and Its Utilization Patiern in Meerut City

Abstract

Meerut city was d1vided in 5 zones namely, eastern, northern, western, southern and centra zones Total m1lk supply in Meerut5 city was estimated 7772191iters of milk per day, out of this, organized sector contributed 194000 liters per day where as, unorganized sector contributed 583219 liters of milk per day. Over all utilization of milk in Meerut city accounted 90.08per cent as fluid milk, 9.92 per cent of milk was utilized for the manufactunng of variow milk productions. Dahi and khoa accounted almost similar percentage of m1lk utihzat1on, wh1ch accounted 2.07 per cent and 2 05 per cent respectively. Other milk product namely tea, sweetened milk, paneer, ghee, butter, chhana, 1ce-cream and kufi accounted around 0.05, 0.65, 1.30, 0.40, 1.1 0, 1.30 and 0.55 respectively.
