Abstract
A field experiment was conducted in rice during kharif season 2009-10 on
sandy loam soil at crop research center ofSardarVallabhbhai Patel University of
Agriculture & Technology, Meerut. The experiment aimed was to evaluate the
effect of weed and nutrientmanagement practices on weed and crop. Experiment
was conducted in factorial RBD with three replications. Among the factors,
weed management practices and nutrient option were considered Different
weed management practices were (weedy (W1), weed free (W2),fenoxaprop-pethyl@
0.07 kg a.i/ha (W3),bensulfuron-methyl@ 0.05 kg a.i!ha (W4), Almix @
4 g a.ilha (W5), bispyribac sodium@ 20 g ai/ha (W6)) and nutrient management
optioncontrol (No), 100% NPK (Nl) and 75% NPK + FYM IOtlha (N2).
The result indicated that chemical methods of weed control reduced the weed
population effectively over weedy check. The lowest weed population, lowest
weed dry matter highest weed control efficiency and highest grain yield (52.92
q/ha) were recorded with application of bispyribac sodi11ID @ 20 g a.i/ha and
established its superiority over rest of the herbicides. Similarly application of
bispyribac sodium @ 20 g a.i/ha has higher gross and net return and B: C ratio .
Study revealed that J 00% NPK produce signjficantly higher grain yield,
straw yield and biological yield as compared to control but grain yield was at par
with 75% NPK. + FYM (10 t). The maximum grain yieJd (49.53 q!ha) and straw
yield (76.54 qlha) were recorded in I 00% NPK followed by 75% NPK + FYM
(10 t).In 100% N.PK (66 9%) more yield than control. In respect of nitrogen,
phosphorus and potassium content and uptake 1 00% NPK provides superiority
over all of the treatments. The highest gross retwn (Rslha), net return (Rs/ha)
and B: C ratio was recorded in 100% NPK followed by 75% NPK + FYM (10
t!ha). The lowest gross return, net return andB: C ratio was recorded in control
plots.
