Abstract
The study was conducted in Budaun district of U.P. Using appropriate sampling technique five blocks of
Budaun district were identified as study area. Five villages (societies) from each block and 10 members and five
non-member milk producer-seller from each village were randomly included in the sample .. Regarding land
holding, around 95 percent animals were maintained within small, marginal and land- less households of small dairy
enterprise, while more than 90 percent milch animals were kept by small, medium and large land holders of medium
dairy enterprise that 90 percent animals of large enterprise were maintained by only medium and large landholders,
hence landless and marginal landholders could not maintained by any animals in the members group.h primary and
secondary data The results also indicated that the large farmers possessed results of analysis of impact on knowledge
of health care, knowledge of feeding knowledge of dairy management and knowledge of breeding could be observed
that differences were highly significant between different pairs of control. significantly higher level of knowledge
over small farmer. total 250 milk producers, small, medium and large were 145, 95 and 10 respectively member
group while 47, 53 and 25 non-members group have been used in the study Some parameters that have a crucial role
and direct bearing on the productivity of milch animals and in the of economics of the milk production were also
analyzed. cost of milk production was low in winter season and highest in summer season .It was also observed that
better feeding pattern was found in member of the society than non-members in each categories (sit was interesting
to note that small farmer had maximum production (5.15 kg/animaVday) followed by medium (4.28 kglan1maVday)
and large (3.60 kg/animaVday). Intensive care and better feeding were the most important causes of maximum
production of milch animal for small farmers.
According to regression analysis, value of concentrate used day"1was the important variant on milk
productivity for each season and each categorymall, medium and large according to estimated mean and 't' valuesA
well as calf mortality had significant difference between member and non-member. Further, it could be observed
that mortality in calf was maximum in large (54.13 percent) followed by medium (44.57 percent) and small (32.4
percent) Milk cooperative should arrange proper transport facilities to all the societies including those situated to in
the interior villages to mitigate the hardships of the milk producers vis-a-vis to boost up the milk procurement
Adequate facilities for the availability of green and concentrate mixture should be made on one hand and on another
the farmers must be motivated to go for cultivation of green fodder in sufficient quantities.
