Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during Rabi season 2011-12 to study the
"Effect of different N level with & without P and K on Growth, Yield and Acquisition
of Nutrients by mustard (Brassica juncea L.) CV. Kranti on crop research centre
(CRC) Chirori, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Agriculture and Technology University
Modipuram, Meerut. The soil of the experimental field is loam in texture. The
design applied for statistical analysis was carried out with randomized block
design with three level of nitrogen, 0, 80 and 120 kg ha-1 and one level of
phosphorus and potassium, 50 kg ha-1, respectively. Treatments were T1 (N0P0K0),
T2 (NoPsoKo), T3 (NoPoKso), T4 (NoPsoKso), Ts (NaoPoKo), Te (NaoPsoKo), T1
(NaoPoKso), Ta (NaoPsoKso), Tg (N12oPoKo), T1o (N12oPsoKo), T11 (N12oPoKso) and T12
(N120P50K50) that were replicated thrice. The result revealed that plant height,
number of branches, number of siliquae per plant, number of seed per siliquae,
1 000-seed weight were affected significantly by different N levels with and without
P & K. Application of NPK @ 120-50-50 kg ha-1 (N12oPsoKso) gave the highest seed
yield (20.78 q ha-1) which increased by 105.74% over control and all above growth
and yield attributes. Seed yield was positively related with number of branches,
number of siliquae per plant, number of seed per siliquae, 1 000-seed weight.
