Effect of Season on Milk Supply, Processing, Milk Procurement, Manufacturing of Milk & Milk Products at Meerut

Abstract
In the present investigation the relevant information were collected on milk
procurement, processing, manufacturing and supply of milk and milk products during
2013-14 by PCDF, Gagol, and Meerut zone of Uttar Pradesh. The year is divided into
four seasons on the basis of temperature and humidity and data were analyzed by using
Complete Randomized Design.
It was observed total and season wise range of milk procured was 4555783.183 and
27632.4 to 255747.9 mt. ton in season II and I, respectively. The total production of Full
Cream Milk, Standard Milk, Toned Milk, Double Toned Milk, JANTA Milk, and Loose
Milk were 11495203, 95724, 85964, 39114, 96264 and 247379.11 I. respectively. The
highest full cream milk, standard milk, and loose milk was processed in season III, and
toned milk and double toned milk in season II, However, highest JANTA milk was
processed in season I. The total milk products manufactured during 2013-14 were as
Salted Lassi (23742 I.), Milk cream (31253 l.), Khoya (3671 0 kg.), Dahi (1190 19.02 kg.),
Chhena Kheer (8784.925 kg.), and Chhach (564178 l.). The highest milk products were
manufactured in various season is Salted lassi, Milk cream, Dahi, Chhena kheer and
Chhachh in season I, and Khoya in season IV. The total Milk Supply to various agencies
were recorded as Military Dairy Farm (1236520 l.), NCR Delhi (2599450 1.), Ghaziabad
(1384250 l.), Saharanpur/ Haridwar (130479 l.), Muzaffarnagar (865739.76 l.), and
Bijnor (775628 1.), respectively. The analyzed of variance shows that significances
differences among seasons were observed in Processed Toned milk, JANT A milk,
Manufactured Salted Iassi, Chhena kheer, Chhachh, and Supply in Military Dairy Farm
and Ghzia
