Abstract
A study on Milk Supply and its Utilization Pattern in Bulandshahr district (U. P.)
India is largest producer of milk in the world, is set to produce over 133 million tone
milk during 2012-13. Several measures have been initiated by the Government to increase
the productivity of milch animals, which has resulted in increasing the milk production
signilicantly from the level of 102.6 million tonnes at the end of the Tenth Plan (2006-07)
~o 127.9 million tonnes at the end of the Eleventh Plan (2011-12) and availability of milk
showed 260-290 g per day per capita. and annual growth rate for production of milk is
about 5% in 2011-12 compared to 2010-11. Bulandshahr was divided into 5 zones like
Central, Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern Zones. Total milk supply in
Bulandshahr was estimated 1,01,910 liters per day; in which organized sectors were
contributed 50,500 liters per day which accounted of total milk supply is 50 percent.
Whereas unorganized sectors were contributed about 50,220 as milk supply and accounted
approximately 49.45 percent. Total utilization of milk was accounted 88 per cent as fluid
