Abstract
The present study entitled "Effect of Integrated Nutrient Management
on Fruit Yield and Quality of Amrapali Mango (Mangifera indica L.) under High
Density Planting," was conducted during 2010-11 and 2011-12 at Horticultural
Research Centre of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and
Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh-250 110, with a view to study the
response of integrated application of organic and inorganic nutrients on
vegetative growth, flowering and fruiting attributes in Amrapali mango under
western UP conditions. Among the integrated nutrient management
treatments applied in the study, maximum plant height, plant spread, number
of panicles per plant, fruit set, fruit yield and physic-chemical quality of fruit
were recorded with 75% RDF(1000, 500, 1000g NPK + 100 kg FYM/plant) +
20 kg Vermicompost + 250g Azotobacter + 250g PSB/plant followed by 75 o/o
RDF + 40 kg Vermicompost + 250g Azotobacter + 250g PS~/plant quring both
the years of study. While calculating the economics of different treatments in
the present study, the maximum gross income (Rs.1 09041 0 and Rs.1308346
ha-1), net return (Rs.874872 and 1036240 ha-1) and cost: benefit ratio (1 :4.06
and 1:3.81) were registered with 75% RDF(1000, 500, 1000g NPK + 100 kg
FYM/plant) + 20 kg Vermicompost + 250g Azotobacter + 250g PSB/plant
followed by 75 % RDF + 40 kg Vermicompost + 250g Azotobacter+ 250g
PSB/plant. Based on the results obtained from the present study, it may be
concluded that, 3/4th of recommended dose of fertilizer in combination with 20
kg Vermicompost + 250g/plant each of Azotobacter and PSB treatment
proved to be most effective treatment not only for improving the growth,
flowering, fruit yield and quality of Amrapali mango but also registered
maximum net return under 75 % RDF + 20 kg Vermicompost + 250g
Azotobacter + 250g PSB/plant followed by 75 % RDF + 40 kg Vermicompost +
250g Azotobacter + 250g PSB/plant under high density planting.
