Abstract
The present investigation entitled title “Effect of Integrated Nutrients Management Practices on Growth and Yield of Pointed gourd (Tricosanthes dioica) cv. Papdi & Rudra’’ was carried and conducted at open field condition located at Horticulture Research Centre (HRC), of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut U.P India during Kharif season of 2022. Pointed gourd cv. Papdi & Rudra were laid out in Randomized block design (RBD) with 10 treatments in 3 replication, accommodating spacing (0.5 × 1.5 meters) with plot size 2.40 m × 1.95 m = 4.68 m2.
The response to different organic treatments viz.,T1 = Control (without fertilization);T2 = R.D.F (80:50:60 of N P K);T3 = Vermicompost @ 10 ton/hac.; T4 = F.Y.M @ 15 ton/hac.;T5 = Jivamrita @ 6% sprays every 15 days interval;T6 = Jivamrita @ 8% sprays every 15 days interval.; T7 = Vermicompost @ 10 ton/hac. + Jivamrita @ 6% sprays.; T7 = Vermicompost @ 10 ton/hac. + Jivamrita @ 6% sprays.; T8 = Vermicompost @ 10 ton/hac. + Jivamrita @ 6% sprays.; T9 = Vermicompost @ 10 ton/hac. + Jivamrita @ 6% sprays.; T10 = Vermicompost @ 10 ton/hac. + Jivamrita @ 6% sprays
For majority of characters at sowing to harvesting viz., days to germination for Papdi (14.36days) and Rudra (14.34days), vine length for Papdi (18.93cm) and Rudra (18.91cm), petiole length for Papdi (18.93cm) and Rudra (18.91cm), number of fruits per plants at harvest (60.88) and Rudra (60.89), days to first fruit harvest for Papdi (104.19days) and Rudra (104.18days), days to last fruit harvest Papdi (18.93days) and Rudra (18.91days), fruit weight at harvest for Papdi (43.88g) and Rudra (43.89g), Marketable yield of fruits per plant for Papdi (18.93g) and Rudra (18.91g), fruit yield per plot for Papdi (8015.12g) and Rudra (8015.89g). However, the fruit yield per hectare for Papdi (398.14q/ha) and Rudra (381.62q/ha) and the 100 seed weight for Papdi & rubra were (18.93 and 18.91) at final harvest.
Therefore, the combination of T9 (Vermicompost @ 10 ton /hac + Jivamrit @8% Spray) followed by the treatment T10 (F.Y.M @ 15 ton/ha + Jivamrita @ 8% sprays) was best suited for the present study. Hence, the above treatment can be suggested as a combination for getting higher yield with greater quantity on sustainable basis in Pointed gourd crop.
