Response of Different organic and inorganic fertilizers on growth and yield of garlic (Allium sativum L.)

Abstract

The present investigation entitled " Response of different organic and inorganic fett il izers on growth and yield of garlic (Allium sativum L.)" was conducted at Horticultural Research Center of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut during rabi season of 20 I 1-12. The experiment was laid out of Randomized Block Design (RBD) with thre~ replications. The experiment consisted of eight treatments viz. T1 (I OOkg N + 60kg P20 5 + I OOkg K20 I ha), T 2( 40kg N + 24kg P20 s + 40kg K20 + I 0 tonnes V .C/ha), T 3 ( 40kg N + 24kg P20 5 -r 40kg K20 + 15 tonnes V.C/ha), T4( 60kg N + 36kg P20s + 60kg K20 + 15 tonnes V.C/ha). T5 (40kg N + 24kg P20 5 + 40kg K20 + 30tonnesFYM/ha), T6 ( 40kg N + 24kg P20 5 + 40kg K20 + 40tonnes/ha), T1 (60kg N + 36kg P20 s + 60kg K20 +40tonnes/ha), T8 (Control). Investigations were under taken to recorded the (i) To study the response of different organic and inorganic fertilizers on growth and yield of garlic. (ii) To find out the optimum requir.;melll of different organic and inorganic fertilizers on growth and yield of garlic Conclusion: It is concluded on the basis of above investigation that the combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers i.e. treatment T4 (60kg N + 36kg P20 s + 60kg k20 + Vcrmicompo t 15 t/ha) was recommended for rabi season garlic cultivation under the condition of western plain zone of Utter Pradesh.
