The investigations entitled " Studies on ceo-friendly management ·of yellow stem borer, S. incertu/as (Walk.) and leaf folder, C. medinal is (Guen.) on basmati rice" at Crop Research Centre of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meer~t. Population of S. incertulas was first recorded on 301 h standard week and reached its peak level on 381h standard week. The population of S. incertulas was negatively correlated with average temperature but positively correlated with average relative humidity and rainfall. The correlation with rainfall showed significant positive correlation during the crop season. The incidence of C. medina/is was first noticed on 29111 standard week and gradually reached at maximum level on 38 111 Standard week. Larval population of C. medina/is \vas negatively correlated ,:vith average temperature but it was positively correlated with average relative humidity and rainfall. It showed significant positive correlation during the crop season. Seven treatments viz., cartap hydrochloride @ 0.75 kg a.i./ha, B. bassiana @ 2.5 kg/ha, B. thuringiensis @ 1.5 kg/ha, imidacloprid @ 0.05%, Trichocard @ 1 ~00, 000 eggs/ha, neem gold@ 5 mill water and neem gold+ Tricocard @ (3 mill water + 75,000 eggs/ha) vvere tested against yellow stem borer and rice leaf folder with two application each on "Pusa basmati- 1 ". Cartap hydrochloride @ 0.75 kg a.i./ha was found to be most effective against these pests at all the test intervals, followed by B. thuringiensis and imidacloprid. Maximum yield was realized in the plots, where cartap hydrochloride was applied and maximum C:B ratio \\'as found with the imidacloprid. B. thuringiensis, Trichocard and B. bassiana were found safer for natural enemies (spider) at all the test intervals.
