Abstract

The current study was carried out at Crop Research Centre (Chirodi) of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (U. P.) during Rabi crop season of 2021-22. Insect-pests complex associated with potato viz., aphid, Myzus persicae (Sul.), whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gen.), leafhopper (Empoasca fabae), cutwom (Agrotis ipsilon), tobacco caterpillar (Spodoptera litura) and thrips (Thrips sp.) and studies of different biopesticides and chemical insecticides treatments for the management of Myzus persicae (Sul.) and Bemisia tabaci (Gen.). The results revealed that treatments T5 (Pymetrozine 50 WG @ 300 gm a.i./ha), followed by T4 (Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 125 gm a.i./ha) was the most effective insecticide against Myzus persicae (Sul.) with highest yield 293.25 q/ha and 289 q/ha however, in the case of Bemisia tabaci (Gen.) T3 (Difenthiuron 50 WP @ 500 gm a.i./ha), followed by T4 (Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 125 gm a.i./ha) with highest yield 290 q/ha and 289 q/ha. The I. C. B. R was maximum for treatment of Thiamethoxam 25% WG (1:8.59) followed by imidacloprid 17.8% SL (1:7.31).
