Abstract
A field experiment was co.nducted in rice during kharif season-201 0
on sandy loam soil at Crop Research Center of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (UP). The experiment
aimed to find out the best herbicide or herbicide mixture in direct seeded
rice for purposes of more yield of rice as compared to weedy check. The
twelve treatments consisting in the, i.e. Pyrazosulfuron @ 25 g ha-1
• ,
Pretilachlor @ 750 g ha-1
, Cyhalofopbutyl @ 90 g ha-1
, Fenoraprop @ 60 g
ha-1Cyhalofopbutyl+ Almix @ 90 + 20 g ha-1
, Fenoxaprop + Almix @ 60 +
20 g ha-1
, Azimsulfuron @ 35 g ha-1
, Bisyribacsodium @ 25 g ha-1
,
Fenoxaprop + Ethoxysulfuron @ 60 + 15 g ha-1
, Oxyfluorfen + 2, 4-D @ 300
+ 500 g ha-1
, Two hand weeding (25 and 50 DAS) and weedy check with
one factor and Randomized Block Design.
Study revealed that post-emergence application of Bispyribacsodium
@ 25 g ha-1was found significantly superior over rest of the treatments in
respect of more plant population, tallest plant, more panicle weight, more
filled grain per panicle and highest 1000 grains weight. Bispyribacsodium @
25 g ha-1 gave the highest rice grain and straw yield. The highest net return
and benefit: cost ratio also was found in this treatment. The lowest grain
yield, straw yield, net return and benefit : cost ratio was found in weedy
check.
