Abstract

The pr~scnt study was conducted during tl1~ year 2015-201 6~ in Meerut district of
Western Uttar Pradesh. It was observed that 45 percent cauliflower grov ers \Vere belong
to the 111ediu1n age group 75 percent back\vard caste n1ost of the cauliflov.rer gro,ver
were educated 92.50 percent married" 78.75 percent living in nuclear fan1ily systen1~
47.50 percent having mediun1 size of family 86.25 percent having pakka house~ n1ost of
cauliflower gro\ ers \Vere belongs to n1arginal and small fan11ers category" 81._5 percent
cauliflower growers n1ain occupation was fartning, 70 percent cauliflower gro\Yers \Vere
having n1ediw11 fru11ily resow·ces" 70 percent havit1g small dairy, 42.50 percent had pakka
shed for anin1al" 51.25 percent using belo\V 5 nw11bers of farn1 machinery and
equiptnents, 62.50 percent cauliflo\ver gro\vers were using one irrigation source, 73.75
percent cauliflower gro\vers \Vere not participated in any orgru1izational activity~ 5_.50
percent cauliflower growers were using 5-l 0 conu11unication sources for obtain
inforn1ation, 83.75 percent having electric city cotmection at hon1e as \Vell as fann" 62.50
percent using 4-6 nun1ber of trru1sport facilities, 42.50 percent caulitlo,ver gro,ver
rumual incon1e was above Rs. 1.5 lack, 68.75 percent cauliflo\ver gro,vers \Vas found

fair level of knowledge regarding cultivation of cauliflov.rer, 52.50 percent caulitlo\ver

percent seed rate, 45 percent using of plru1t protection n1easure, 5_._5 percent packing.
