An experiment was conducted to study the effect of different sources and levels of sulphur on mung bean (Vigna radiata L} in sandy loam soil during Kharif 2011 Nine different treatments were replicated thrice in a randomized block design. The soil of experimental site was low in organic carbon and medium in available phosphorus and potassium. Treatments were recommended NPK (T1}, recommended NPK +elemental sulphur@ 10kgha-1 (T2), recommended NPK + elemental sulphur @ 20kgha-1 (T3}, recommended NPK + elemental sulphur @ 30kgha-1 {T4}, recommended NPK + elemental sulphur @ 40 kgha-1 (T5), recommended NPK + gypsum @ 55kgha-1 (T6}, recommended NPK + gypsum @ 110kgha-1 (T7), recommended NPK + gypsum @ 165kgha-1 (T8}, recommended NPK+ gypsum@ 220kgha-1 (T9}. Significantly lower grain yield, effective nodules sulphur content in plant sample were obtained with T1 treatment where only recommended NPK was applied. The treatment where recommended NPK + gypsum @ 220kgha-1 produce significantly the highest grain and straw yield and it was statically at par with the treatment where recommended NPK + gypsum @ 55 kgha- 1 (Te}, recommended NPK + gypsum @ 110kgha-1 (T7) and recommended NPK + gypsum @ 165 kgha-1 (Ta) were applied and significantly superior over rest of the treatments. From the above study it also seems that application of sulphur along with recomme ed. NPK improved its content in soil as compare to control. The chemical pr ertie f soil in the rest of the treatments improved slightly
