dc.description.abstract | A field experiment was conducted to assess effect of micronutrients application on nutrient removal and performance of urdbean in sandy loam soil at Crop Research Centre of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut (U.P.), during kharif season of 2019. The eight treatments consistency application of micronutrients viz., RDF (20:60), RDF + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1, RDF + Fe @ 5.0 kg ha-1, RDF + B @ 1.0 kg ha-1, RDF + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + Fe @ 5.0 kg ha-1, RDF + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + B @ 1.0 kg ha-1, RDF + Fe @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + B @ 1.0 kg ha-1 and RDF + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + Fe @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + B @ 1.0 kg ha-1 were tested in RBD with three replications. Vallabh Urd-1 was grown as a test variety. The results revealed that the combine application of Zn, Fe, B along with RDF exhibited significant influence on the growth, yield attributes and yields of urdbean as compared to RDF (20:60) during year of experimentation. Significant improvement in growth parameters viz. plant height, number of trifoliate leaves plant-1, number of branches plant-1, leaf area index, dry matter accumulation (g plant-1), number of root nodules plant-1, dry weight of nodules (mg/plant), protein content, 1000-grain weight, nutrient content and grain yield was recorded with the application of RDF + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + Fe @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + B @ 1.0 kg ha-1, which established its superiority over rest of the micronutrient treatments. The total nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, boron and iron uptake by urdbean crop was also highest (99.54, 10.56, 64.85 kg ha-1, 137.69, 120.70 and 695 g ha-1), respectively with the application of RDF + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + Fe @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + B @ 1.0 kg ha-1 and 109.0 and 51.57 per cent increase in grains and straw yield urdbean RDF was recorded. The application of RDF + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + Fe @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + B @ 1.0 kg ha-1 resulted in to higher protein yield (294.69 kg ha-1). Thus the application of RDF + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + Fe @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + B @ 1.0 kg ha-1 found better for sustainability of urdbean crop yield. Among the individual contribution of Zn, Fe and B application on yield enhancement was 79.7, 63.4 and 73.3%, respectively. | |
