The oyster mushroom is one of the most important edible mushrooms with medicinal value. This species is also claimed to prevent high blood pressure, ease covering from fatigue, prevent hangover and prolong life. The present investigation was carried out on “Study the effect of different substrates and oil cakes on production of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus florida)”.during cropping period in 2017-18. Regarding laboratory experiments, among the six media for different grain extracts for radial growth the results revealed that maximum radial growth was found in Black gram leaf extract agar medium and it followed Pigeon pea leaf extract agar. Among six different grains, maximum spawn growth was observed is Oat on 16th days in bottles which are significantly superior to other grain spawn. Which was followed the sorghum. The minimum spawn growth was observed in, Wheat followed by Maize on 16th day respectively. The effect of different substrates on (sporophore) yield of (P. florida) maximum yield, in case of wheat straw + Pigeon pea leaf powder @ 8%, number of fruiting body highest pileus length and minimum days for spawn run and days for cropping period were observed at wheat straw. While the minimum yield was recorded at Wheat straw + Black gram leaf powder @ 5% with number of fruiting body, pileus length and days for spawn run and cropping period was recorded. The effect of different organic (pulse flour) additives on yield of oyster mushroom (P. florida) maximum yield with was found in wheat straw + pigeon pea flour 6% . The minimum yield was observed in wheat straw (control) followed by wheat straw + Black gram flour. The effect of different type of oil cakes on production of yield of oyster mushroom (P. Florida).Maximum yield for Wheat straw + Linseed cake@ 5%). The minimum yield was recorded in control (Wheat straw) was followed by Wheat straw + Caster cake@ 4%.
