Mustard an important oilseed crop belonging to Crucifereae family occupies nearly 70 per cent of the total oilseed area under cultivation. Several biotic and abiotic factors have been identified for the low productivity of mustard in India. In the biotic factors, Alternaria blight and White rust are serious problems for the successful cultivation of mustard crop in India. In the present investigations extensive studies on occurrence and management of this disease were undertaken. During survey for prevalence of these diseases in Western U.P., it was observed that maximum disease incidence & severity of Alternaria blight at district level was recorded from Ghaziabad & Hapur. At the block level maximum incidence was recorded from Bhojpur & Simbhawali in both the years (2013-14 and 2014-15) but highest severity in 1st year (2013-14) was recorded from Rajapur & Bhojpur and in II"d year was recorded from Bhoijpur & Rajapur. Maximum disease incidence of White rust at district level was recorded from Muzaffarnagar & Saharanpur but severity was recorded from Shamli & Muzaffarnagar in 1st year, while in II"d year maximum disease incidence were recorded from Muzaffarnagar & Shamli but highest severity was recorded from Sharanpur & Muzaffarnagar. In case fungicide application minimum yield loss was recorded in RH-1134 in both the years. In case of bioagents application minimum yield loss was found in RH-1134 in both years. 79 germplasm were screened against Alternaria blight. Maximum inhibition of fungal growth was found with propiconazole, hexaconazole and tebuconazole at 250, 500, 750 and 1000 ppm in vitro. In plant extract, maximum inhibition of fungal growth was found with turmeric, garlic and neem at 5, I 0, 15% concentration in vitro. Minimum Alternaria blight on leaves and pods were recorded with T7 (ST with Propiconazole @ 0.1% 2 foliar spray of Nativo (Tebuconazole + Trifloxystrobin) @ 0.25%). Minimum White rust on leaves and stag head were recorded with T 6 (ST with Apron @ 6g/kg seed + foliar spray of Metalaxyl 2g/l water).
