| dc.description.abstract | Present study was undertaken to fingerprint the Thirty six varieties of barley collected from Directorate of wheat research, Karnal, Haryana using 8 RAPD and 1 0 ISSR molecular markers. The cluster analysis was made using NTSYS Software. All 36 varieties group together into two main clusters following each RAPD and ISSR molecular marker assay. The PIC value and Resolving power were calculated for individual primers. Polymorphic Information Content value of RAPD primer varies from 0.80 (OPF14) to 0.99 (OPF 17) with average of 0.92.Polymorphic Information Content value of ISSR varies from 0.39 (ISSR 70 P, ISSR4) to 0.80(1SSR62 P) with average of .67.Rp(resolving power) of RAPD varies from 1.30 (OPF 14) to 1.93 (OPD 08, OPJ 08) with the average of 1.58.RP (resolving power) of ISSR 0.79 (ISSR4) to 1.54(1SSR9) with the average of 1.19. The molecular analysis reveals that RAPD expressed maximum resolving power and PIC value. Thus two molecular marker systems together provide wider genome coverage and were found to be better indicator of genetic relationships | |
