Abstract
The present investigations were undertaken in laboratory "Studies on biology and management of Rice meal moth, Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton) in stored grain” during the year 2022 in the bio-control laboratory, Department of Agricultural Entomology, College of Agriculture, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut. Biology of rice meal moth Corcyra cephalonica on sorghum grains. The female started layiny eggs after 2.0 to 5.0 days of emergence, Pre-oviposition ranged from 1.0 to 2.0 days and oviposition period of Corcyra cephalonica ranged from 2.0 to 3.0 days.Post-oviposition period ranged from 1.0 to 3.0 days. The Maximum fecundity was recorded from 106.0 to 208.0 eggs. And total larval period 28 to 33 days. the pupal period 7.0 to 9.0 days, that the male longevity was higher than the female ranged from 5.0 to 7.0 days. longevity of the males ranged from 3.0 to 8.0 days respectively. The significantly highest larval mortality was recorded in neem leaf powder 5gm per 100gm grains (40.00 %) while eucalyptus leaf powder 5gm per 100gm grains (34.00 %). And The treatment of neem leaf powder ( 5g in 100 g) was found superior with minimum Per cent weight loss ( 2.68). Rice husk ash 250gm per 1kg of grains, recorded with maximum per cent weight loss (35.02).
