| dc.description.abstract | The present investigation entitled in "A study of knowledge gap and constraints analysis of wheat production technology in Central Uttar Pradesh" with the help of the specific objectives. The total sample size was 160 for the study. The results of the study depicted that the majority of the respondents (53.75°/o} belonged to old age group ranging above 55 years. Maximum 51.25 percent respondents were belongs to other backward caste. The majority of the 55.62 percent of the total respondent are educated up to intermediate. The majority of respondents (71.88°/o) were belonged to joint family system and interested for wheat cultivation. The maximum 66.25 percent respondents of the wheat growers were having large size (above 4 members) of the family. The maximum 45.00 percent wheat growers were having mixed type of house. Majority of respondents 85 percent belong to marginal and small categories of land holding (0-2 ha.) The maximum 85.00 percent wheat growers have as their main occupation agriculture. The maximum 77.50 percent respondents having mobile phone.Majority of 93.13 percent wheat growers have cycle. Majority of 95.63 percent of the wheat growers have khurpi, fawara, pruning kaichy. Majority of 39.36 percent wheat growers are using rent basis irrigation. Maximum (80.00%) respondents are not participating in any organization activity. Majority of 55.00 percent respondents are belonging to the income group Rs. less than 20,000 annual income.The majority of 58.75 percent of the respondents belong to medium category of socio-economic status. The farmer's preferred Neighbor/ relatives as a top most source of information and Agro chemical distributor (shop keeper) was secondary source of information and the maximum wheat growers were using T.V. and Newspaper as a mass media source of information. The highest percentage of knowledge gap with found under pest control in wheat cultivation. Majority of respondents (60.62°/o) possess good knowledge of various aspects of wheat production technology.lrrigation was the main problem of wheat growers in central zone. | |
