Abstract
In the p~esent investigation "Effect of ginger (Zingiber officina/e) and thyme
(Thymus v~lgans) on the growt~ performance of broiler" was studies. In this study 240
day old ch~ck of Co.bb- 400 stra1~ was taken and divided into eight equal groups, each
were fe~ d1ffer~nt d1ets. Body we1ght, weekly body weight gain, feed consumption, feed
convers1on rat1o (FCR), shank length, keel bone length and hock circumference were
measured. The dietary plan of the feeding trial T1, Control (Standard ration); T2, 0.25%
Ginger+ 0.25%Thyme; T3, 0.5% Ginger Powder; T4, 1% Ginger Powder; T5, 0.5%
Thym~ Powder; T6, 1% Thyme Powder; T7, 0.5% Ginger+ 0.5% Thyme Powder; T8,
1% Gmger + 1% Thyme Powder. Average body weight of day old chicks was 42.2±0.96,
43.64±1.09, 40.5±1.09, 40.2±1.28, 36.2±1.56, 38.0±1.38, 40.8±0.87 and 34.3±1.38 g in
T1, T2, T3, T4, Ts, T6, T1, and T8 groups respectively. The average body weight at 6th week
of age was found 1972.6 ± 16.12, 2017.7 ± 6.00, 2048.0 ± 5.94, 2052.6 ± 95.12, 1910.7 ±
