dc.description.abstract | A study entitled “Effect of Zinc enriched organic sources on Zinc Availability in Soil, Growth, Yield and Quality of Wheat” was carried out during 2019-20 & 2020-21, at CRC farm, SVPUAT campus, Meerut. The experimental field was uniform and leveled, sandy loam in texture, low in available nitrogen (200.0 kg ha-1), medium in available phosphorus (20.77 kg ha-1), potassium (250.0 kg ha-1) and zinc (0.75 ppm) with slightly alkaline in reaction (pH 7.82). The experiment was carried out in Randomized Block Design with three replications and 08 treatments. The treatments comprised of T1 (control), T2 (100% NPK), T3 (100% NPK + Zn @ 5.0 Kg ha-1), T4 (100% NPK + FYM @ 5.0 t ha-1), T5 (100% NPK + FYM @ 5.0 t ha-1 enriched with Zn @ 0.1%), T6 (100% NPK + V.C @ 1.5 t ha-1), T7 (100% NPK + V.C. @ 1.5 t ha-1 enriched with Zn @ 0.33%) and T8 (100% NPK + Zn @ 2.5 kg ha-1 as basal and 0.1% Zn at tillering stage). Treatments effects were evaluated in terms of growth and yield of wheat. The results also revealed that among the different zinc and organic sources treatments the highest grain yield (44.06 & 46.72 q ha-1) was obtained under 100% NPK + Zn @ 2.5 kg ha-1 as basal and 0.1% Zn at tillering stage which were at par (42.50 & 44.78 q ha-1) with the application of 100% NPK + V.C. @ 1.5 t ha-1 enriched with Zn @ 0.33% and (41.26 & 43.39 q ha-1) 100% NPK + FYM @ 5.0 t ha-1 enriched with Zn @ 0.1%. The highest total NPK and zinc content and uptake by grain and straw found with 100% NPK + Zn @ 2.5 kg ha-1 as basal and 0.1% Zn at tillering stage was at par with 100% NPK + V.C. @ 1.5 t ha-1 enriched with Zn @ 0.33% and 100% NPK + FYM @ 5.0 t ha-1 enriched with Zn @ 0.1%. The results revealed that the highest net monetary return (₹73668 & 80491 ha-1) and B: C ratio (2.86 & 3.00) among all the treatments was obtained with 100% NPK + Zn @ 2.5 kg ha-1 as basal and 0.1% Zn at tillering stage during both the years, which was found at par with 100% NPK + V.C. @ 1.5 t ha-1 enriched with Zn @ 0.33%. On the basis of two year experiment it can be concluded that the 100% NPK + Zn @ 2.5 kg ha-1 as basal and 0.1% Zn at tillering stage found better for higher productivity and profitability of wheat crop due to non availability of laborers. | |
