dc.description.abstractA field experiment was conducted to study the Effect of Efficient Phosphorus Management on Black Gram (Vigna mungo L. Hepper) during the kharif season of 2022 at Technology Park of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (U.P.). The soil of the experimental field was well drained, sandy loam in texture and slightly alkaline in reaction. It was low in organic carbon and available nitrogen, medium in available phosphorus and potassium. Ten treatments viz., Control, RDF(15:40:20kg/ha), NK (15:20), RDF + seed treatment with DAP @ 2 %, RDF + seed treatment with nano DAP @ 1 %, RDF + foliar spray of DAP @ 2 % at branching stage, RDF + foliar spray of nano DAP @ 2 % at branching stage, RDF + foliar spray of DAP @ 2 % at flowering stage, RDF + foliar spray of nano DAP @ 0.4 % at flowering stage and RDF + seed treatment with nano DAP @ 1 % + foliar spray of nano DAP @ 0.4 % at flowering stage were tested in RBD with 3 replications. Results revealed that the growth parameters and yield attributing characters of black gram viz., pods/plant, grains/pod, test weight and grain yield/plant were significantly improved by various treatment over control, being highest under RDF + seed treatment with nano DAP @ 1 % + foliar spray of nano DAP @ 0.4 % at flowering stage, which was closely followed by RDF + foliar spray of nano DAP @ 0.4 % at flowering stage and RDF + foliar spray of DAP @ 2 % at flowering stage. Accordingly, highest grain (1175 kg/ha) and straw (2425 kg/ha) yields were recorded with under RDF + seed treatment with nano DAP @ 1 % + foliar spray of nano DAP @ 0.4 % at flowering stage. Moreover, RDF + seed treatment with nano DAP @ 1 % + foliar spray of nano DAP @ 0.4 % at flowering stage treatment and foliar spray of DAP @ 2 % at flowering stage. outyielded RDF by 16.3 % and 11.8 % respectively. Nutrient uptake (N, P, and K) by grains, straw and total also followed the almost similar trend. The crop grown with RDF + foliar spray of DAP @ 2 % at flowering stage fetched maximum net returns of ₹ 50844 with highest B:C ratio of 2.78. Though, the lowest values of gross returns, net returns and B:C ratio was observed under control.
