dc.description.abstract | A field experiment was conducted during thekharif 2022 at Crop Research Centre of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (U.P.) toeffect of micronutrients mixture application on growth, yield and quality of Moong bean (Vigna radiata L.). The soil of the experimental field was well drained, sandy loam in texture, low in organic carbon and available nitrogen, medium in available phosphorus, potassium and slightly alkaline in reaction. The eleven treatments of micronutrients viz.control, only RDF, RDF + water spray, RDF + foliar spray of micronutrients mixture I @ 500 ml/ha at 30 DAS, RDF + foliar spray of micronutrients mixture I @ 500 ml/ha at 45 DAS, RDF + foliar spray of micronutrients mixture I @ 500 ml/ha at 30 & 45 DAS, RDF + foliar spray of micronutrients mixture II @ 500 ml/ha at 30 DAS, RDF + foliar spray of micronutrients mixture II @ 500 ml/ha at 45 DAS, RDF + foliar spray of micronutrients mixture II @ 500 ml/ha at 30 & 45 DAS, RDF + soil application of micronutrients mixture III @ 5 kg/ha, RDF + soil application of micronutrients mixture III @ 7.5 kg/hawere laid out in RBD with three replications. The variety of mung bean Virat was sown and harvested on April 25 and July 09 (2022), respectively. Results revealed that the growth parameters and yield attributing characters of moongbean viz., plant height, branches/plant,trifoliate leaves/plant, dry matter accumulation/plant, pods/plant, grains/pod and test weight were significantly higher underRDF + Foliar Spray of Micronutrients Mixture I @ 500 ml/ha at 30 & 45 DASover other treatments. Similarly, the effective nodules/plant, dry weight of nodules/plant, protein content and yield, nutrient uptake (N, P, K, Zn, Fe, Mn, B) by seed and straw and nutrient status in soil after harvest of crop were also found maximumwith the application of RDF + foliar spray of micronutrients mixture I @ 500 ml/ha at 30 & 45 DAS treatment. The study revealed that application ofRDF + foliar spray of micronutrients mixture I @ 500 ml/ha at 30 & 45 DASin mung bean cropis advantageous for obtaining higher yield, net return, B:C ratio, nutrient uptake and available nutrient in soil after harvest was comparable superior to rest of the treatments. | |
