| dc.description.abstract | The field experiment was conducted during Rabi 2013-2014 at Crop Research Centre (Chirori farm) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut-250110 (U.P.) for the "Evaluating efficacy of novel insecticide and bio pesticide against gram pod borer Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) in chickpea" in a randomized block design with three replications, consisting seventh treatments. Seasonal incidence of H. armigera was recorded during 2013-14. Larval population was found throughout the crop season and highest larval populations were in 15th standard weeks (13th to 19th April) in the control plot. The incidence of this pest was positively correlated with temperature and negatively correlated with rainfall and relative humidity. Efficacy of different treatments (indoxacarb 14.5 SC@ 500 ml/ha, spinosad 45 SC @ 200 ml/ha, flubendiamide 480 SC @ 75 mllha.,emamectin benzoate @ 200 g/ha, methomyl 40 SP@ 1000 g/ha, neem excel EC@ 3000 ml/ha) tested against H. armigera larvae found that flubendiamide 480 SC @ 75 ml/ha was found best with minimum population of H. armigera at first spray 1.67 larvae (3 DAS), 2.33 larvae (7 DAS) , and the minimum larval population at second spray 2.00 (3 DAS), 2.67 larvae (7 DAS) , minimum pod damage percent at first spray 0.90 (3 DAS), 1.93 (7 DAS), and minimum pod damage percent at second spray 1.10 (3 DAS), 2.69 (7 DAS). The treatment with flubendiamide 480 SC @ 75 ml/ha was also found best with the highest grain yield (19.85 q/ha), maximum increase in yield (13.65 q/ha) over control, maximum net return (Rs. 37400.00 q/ha) and cost benefit ratio (1: 10.53), but due to the lowest cost of treatment in Emamectin benzoate 5 SG @200 g/ha was fond the highest cost benefit ratio (1.12.45) than the flu bend amide 480 SC @ 75 ml/ha. | |
