Abstract
The present investigation entitled, "Integrated Nutrient Management
Studies in Chrysanthemum (Dandreantlzema grmulijlora Tzevlev) cv. Kundan" was
conducted at Horticultural Research Centre of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of
Agriculture and Technology, Meerut in 2012-13. The experiment laid out in Randomized
Block Design (RBD) with three replications. The experiment consisted of eleven treatments
viz. T1 (Control), T2 (RDF), T3 [75% RDF + I ton VC + PSB (2.5 ltlha)], T4 [75% RDF +
Azotobactor (2.5 lt/.ha)], Ts (75% RDF + I ton VC), T6 [75% RDF + Azotobactor (2.5 ltlha)
+ PSB (2.5 lt/ha)], T7 [75% RDF + PSB (2.5 ltlha)], Ts [75% RDF + Azotobactor (2.5 ltlha)
+ 1 ton VC)], T9 [75% RDF + Azotobactor (2.5 ltlha) + PSB (2.5 ltlha) + 1 ton VC)], T10
(75% RDF), T11 ( 125% RDF). Out ofthese, treatment T9 [75% RDF + Azotobactor (2.5 ltlha)
+ PSB (2.5 ltlha) + I ton VC] significantly gave maximum plant height, plant spread,
secondary number of branches, total dry weight of plants. Similarly, T9 [75% RDF +
Azotobactor (2.5 Itlha) + PSB (2.5 Itlha) + 1 ton VC)] was also gave significant .effect in
terms of days to first bud initiation, days to 50% flowering, maximum duration of flowers,
stalk length, diameter of flower, shelf life of flowers at room temperature, weight of fresh
flowers, weight of dry flowers and fresh flower yield.
Based on the results obtained from the present study, it may be concluded that, among
all the treatments of Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) applied in the study, treatment
T9 [75% RDF + Azotobactor (2.5 ltlha) + PSB (2.5 Itlha) + I ton VC)] was found to be most
effective in the improving the growth, flowering and flower production of Chrysanthemum
cv. "Kundan" fm er the agro climatic conditions of western Uttar Pradesh
