The present investigation entitled, "site specific integrated nutrient management on performance and quality of scented rice" was carried out at Crop Research Centre, Chirori of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (U.P.). The experiment consisted in a Randomized Block Design in four replications and six different treatments viz; (T1) control, (T2)100% RDF of N, P, K ,Zn & B @90; 40; 30; 05; 1.5 Kgha'', (TJ) 66% of RON +RDPK + 34% N by vermicompost- 1.25 t ha·', (T4) 66% ofRDN + RDPK + 34% N by Sesbania Rostreta -0.9 t ha'1 , (T5) TATA PARAS (11;32;13;0.9;0.24% N, P, K, Zn &B), (T6) Fanner Pr&~tices (100: 50 Kgha'1 N P) .The scented rice variety Pusa basmati 1121 was grown and nutrient uptake, soil properties and ground water quality as influenced by different treatments were assessed. Results obtained from the study revealed that plant height, numbers of tillers /m'2 , dry matter accumulation enhanced in T2 to T5 as compare to rice crop grown in Control or farmer practices which might be ascribed to increase availability of nutrients (N, P, K, Zn & B). Further it was also observed that with use of balanced inorganic fertilizer alone or in combination of inorganic & organic fertilizer or customize fertilizer (TATA PARAS) physical properties of soil improved which may be due to improvement in OC % by more biomass addition in soil. Significant reduction in BD was noticed where more biomass was added. The application of balanced inorganic fertilizer alone or combine use of inorganic and organic fertilizer increased the infiltration rate of soil. Treatments applied in the study distinctly showed the improvement in OC %, availability of N, P, K, Zn, B and better soil environment were found superior over control. Uptake of N, P, K, Zn anJ B by scented rice under different treatments was also found significantly higher than control. The grain yield of rice was significantly higher in inorganic fertilizer alone or combine use of organic & inorganic fertilizer treated plot than in control. However, no significant variation was observed in the grain yield of inorganic treated plots and combine use of fertilizer treated plot. The balanced fertilizer either through traditionally available fertilizer or customized fertilizer or through combine use of organic & inorganic fertilizer improved the grain yield of rice. Applied treatments also improve the protein content, reduce the broken percent and improve the quality of rice than control. Combine use of fertilizer with organic. & inorganic gave the highest net return and B:C ratio with minimum cost of production.
