The present investigation entitled “Bio-efficacy of newer insecticides against Brown Plant Hopper, Nilaparvata lugens (Stal.) in Basmati rice” was carried out at Crop Research Centre of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (U.P.) during Kharif, 2019. The observations revealed that among all the treatments, imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 200 ml/ha was found most effective in reducing the population of BPH population with 1.93 and 1.57 BPH/hill after first and second spray respectively and followed by fipronil 5 SC @ 1000 ml/ha, thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 100 gm/ha, cartaphydrochloride 4G @ 750 gm a.i./ha, indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 500 ml/ha and lamdacyhalothrin 5 EC @ 500 ml/ha, respectively. The highest population of BPH was recorded in untreated control with 10.40 and 9.73 BPH/hill, after first and second spray respectively. The incidence of brown plant hopper attended its peak level during the 38th standard week (third week of September) with 15.17 BPH/hill during Kharif, 2019. Correlation studies between mean populations of Brown plant hopper and weather factor exhibited non significance positive correlations with maximum and minimum temperature, maximum, and minimum relative humidity with, (r = +0.0186), (r = +0.175), (r = +0.417), and (r = +0.301), respectively. While, rainfall had non significance negative correlations against BPH with (r = -0.427). The maximum grain yield of 39.10 q/ha was recorded in fipronil 5 SC @ 1000 ml/ha and minimum grain yield was found in untreated control with 27.15 q/ha. The maximum cost benefits ratio (1:7.89) was recorded in the treatment imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 200 ml/ha. and minimum cost benefits ratio (1:4.60) obtained in the treatment lamdacyhalothrin 5 SC @ 500ml/ha.
