dc.description.abstractThe percents study was conducted during the year 2011-12, in Muzaffar Nagar district of western U.P. on "impact study on guava orchardist" this study revealed that most of guava growers were belonging to the middle age group (30-45), more than 90 per cent guava growers were educated,56 per cent guava growers were belonging to backward caste, most of guava growers were living in nuclear farnily(85 %) with joint family(15%) system, 56 per cent respondents main occupation as guava cultivation and 36 percent as secondary occupation. Most of the respondents having 1-2 ha. land, improved agricultural implements, using hired transport facilities, more than one irrigation source, having medium & high contact to university scientists I extension experts I extension workerslagrochemical distributer/Radioff.V etc. medium mass exposure in guava cultivation.27.5 per cent guava growers annual income were lies between Rs.l 00000-1.50000. More than 50 per cent of the guava growers were having mobile phone, T.V., Radio, diss connection, fan, cooler, freeze, gas connection, bathroom , pump and watch and also having transportation facilities like motorcycle, bullackcart etc. Most of the -guava growers were having medium and high knowledge level with respect to guava cultivation and adopted all cultivation practices on medium level except early and late bearing varieties of guava and recommended growth regulators both are un-adopted. Most of the guava orchardists where phased problem of lack of awareness regarding improved guava cultivation technique, Un availability of government loan for guava production, No fixed price decided by government for guava, short life of ripen fruit, poor marketing channel, lack of confidence about new practices and lack of knowledge about marketing system these were problems of this region other problem were lack of availability of specific training of guava orchardists, poor availability of information technology, high cost of transportation facilities, lack of knowledge about processing method, lack of knowledge about correct time and method of harvesting, lack of availability of scientist support at prober time, lack of storage facility for some time.
