A field experiment was conducted on rice crop variety Arize 6129 to study the " monitoring of soil properties under different micro irrigation systems and tillage tnethods in direct seeded rice" at Chirrori farm of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (U.P.) during Kharif season 20 J 0. The experiment was conducted in split plot design with three replication. Irrigation methods (Sprinkler, Drip, Chaplin drip and flood) were considered as main plot and tillage methods as subplots (reduced and zero tillage) .Soil of experimental sites was loam in texture with pH 8.75 Soil was total carbon 0.80 per cent, 41.5 kg/ha in available P and 316.6 kg/ha available K. All three micro irrigation systems save water as compare to flood irrigation. Yield attribute s and yield improved significantly due to application of sprinkler irrigation instead of flood irrigation system. Grain yield increased by 7, 4and 3.8 % due to application of sprinkler system over flood, drip and Chaplin drip system, respectively. Among the tillage method, reduced tillage produced significantly higher grain yield as compare to the zero tillage. Reduced tillage produced 10 % higher grain yield than zero tillage. The effect of irrigation systems & tillage methods on bulk density at different depth of soil was non significant while the infiltration rate was significantly affected by irrigation systetns. Interaction and tillage effect was non significant. Highest value of infiltration .16 7 cm/hr was recorded in flood irrigation and it was 2.4, 1.3, 2.5, percent higher than sprinkler, drip & chaplin drip, respectively. Neither irrigation systems nor tillage options showed any significant effect on different soil chemical properties (pH, EC, Available P, K and total carbon).
