Impact of Kvks Training on Rural Youth in Western Uttar Pradesh

Abstract
The present study was carried out during the year 2022-2023 in three KVKs selected purposively comes under Meerut, Ghaziabad and Saharanpur district to the jurisdiction of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology Meerut Uttar Pradesh. The 60 trainees selected from each KVKs. The total number of 180 trainees selected randomly. The appropriate statistical tool use for data analysis. In research structured interview schedule use for data collection. The findings of the study show that majority of rural youth belong to middle age group (45.56%), male (83.90%), Other Backward Caste (53.33%), high school (45.56%), married (77.80%), The rural youth have marginal land holding (49.40%), engaged only mushroom production as a main occupation (52.78%). rural youth have medium group of domestic animals (47.22%), Social participation of rural youth have membership of one or more than one organization (76.10%), The majority of having up to 5 years of mushroom cultivation experience (66.67%), Medium annual family income (43.30%), medium source of information (51.11%), medium level of achievement motivation (54.44%), medium level of economic motivation (52.78), Further the majority of rural youth join on campus training (70.56 %), respectively and the majority of rural youth join fortnight training (72.22 %) followed by one week (17.77%) and up to three days (10.00%) respectively at the KVKs training center. various strategies used by trainers in training programmes. Need assessment of the trainee, curriculum development, selection of trainee, assessment tool uses such as quizzes and test, used audio visual aids according to their training needs, budget planning, follow up visit, evaluation and feedback incorporation were used by (100.00 %) trainers followed by inviting expert from another institute as well the rural youth after training change their knowledge, skill and attitude etc. Finally, the trainee cultivation of mushroom many constraints faced like lake of market channel (75.65%). Lake of Quality spawn to be supplied on time (71.67%) etc. The KVKs are made to provide need-based and skill-oriented vocational training to working farmers, rural youths and women, extension workers at the field level and people looking to start their own businesses. KVKs are actively contributing to the development of human resources for the advancement of agriculture.
