Abstract

The present investigation entitled “Screening of Rapeseed Mustard varieties and field evaluation of insect growth regulators and novel insecticides against Mustard Aphid, Lipaphis erysismi (Kalt.)”were carried out at Crop Research Centre (CRC) of the S.V.P. University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut, (U.P.) during Rabi, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. Screened out 30 Rapeseed Mustard varieties, eight varieties viz., NRCHB-101, NRCDR-2, Pusa Mahak, PM-26, PM-22, PM-24, Aravali and RRN-505 were found comparatively below 2 AII, these varieties found under moderately resistance (MR) and remaining 22 varieties were found under resistance (R) because it was found below 1 AII.The incidence of five species of insect-pests and two natural enemies were observed on Rapseed Mustard at different stage of crop growth. Among these Mustard aphid, Mustard sawfly and Cabbage butterfly were recorded as major pest. Whereas, remaining all other insect-pests recorded as minor pest. The incidence of Mustard aphid was started from 2nd to 11th and 1st to 10th SMW with peak population of 123.50 and 130.00 aphids/10cm terminal twig/plant.Mustard aphid population showed negative correlation with minimum and maximum RH and rainfall, whereas maximum and minimum relative humidity showed non-significant positive correlation during Rabi, 2020-21 and the maximum temperature showed non-significant negative correlation whereas, minimum temperature showed significant negative correlation with Mustard Aphid population. The maximum relative humidity and rainfall showed non-significant positive correlation however, minimum relative humidity showed significant positive correlation with Mustard Aphid population during Rabi, 2021-22. The incidence of Coccinellaseptempunctata, a predator of Mustard Aphid was recorded on Rapeseed Mustard crop from 2nd to 11th SMW and Syrphid fly was recorded on Rapeseed Mustard crop from 2nd to 10th SWM.Among the various treatments evaluated for the management of Mustard Aphid, L. erysimi (Kalt.), Flonicamid 50% WG treated plots were found most effective and gave highest yield of 14.73 q/ha followed by Acetameprid 20% SPwith 12.87 q/ha yield. The highest net return and cost-benefit ratio of Rs. 31142.75/ha and 1:7.82 was obtained from Flonicamid 50% WG. The efficacy of remaining treatments in order to their superiority wasBuprofezin 40% SC, Thiacloprid 48% SC,Fipronil 5% SC and Diafenthiuron 50% WP.
