Abstract
The present rnvestlgation on evaluation of some novel insectJCidc and
bioprsticides agatnst tomato frutt borer He/Jcoverpa onmgera {Hubner) was
carried out dunng 2009-2010 nnd the studres were conducted 1n fteld
experunents The study was earned out at Crop Research (CRC) of Sardar
Vullabhbhat Patel Unrversrty of Agnculture & Technology Meerut In order to
explore the mc1denco and develop1ng better management opt1on aga nst th1s
pest. On tomato frutt. borer Hehcovo1pa arm•gera (Hubner) rs the maJor pest of
vegetable from troprcal world The drfferent trealmcnt evaluated were
tndo;cacarb 14 5 SC @ SOOml/ha cartap hydrochlonde 50 SP @ 1 00 Kg/ha
lamda cyhalothnn @ 25 ml/ha profcnophos @ 1 00 Itt /ha endosulfan 35 EC
@ 1.5 /ha, ozoneem 1500 ppm@ 200 ht/ha, 1/aNPV 250 L1Vha, Beuuvmw
basssana @2 5 kglha, BaCIUus lhunng,ensts@ 1 Skgtha and Control
The most effective treatment was found to be indoxacarb 14 5 SC @
SOOml/ha 1n wh1ch the frUit •nfestat10n after 21 days of the l!urd apphcatton was
6.5 per cent and yield of 51887 0 kg/ha Th1s was followed by cartap
hydrochlonde 50 SP @ 1 00 Kg/ha, lamda cyhalothrin @ 25 mVha
profenophos @ 1 hiJha endosulfan 35 EC @ 1 5 lha wh1ch recomded
tnlestst1on of 9 84 15 71 and 17 41 wh•le frutt yteld of 51201 0 50342 0
48231 0 and 47314 0 kg/ha respectively Among the b1opest•cide the most
effecttve tteatment was ozOI"'eem 1500 ppm @ 2 00 r,• lh~ Wtlh fru 1 darr.age
of 18.31 per cent and frUit yteld of 45936 0 kg/ha The next treatments were
HaNPV 250 L1Vha Beauvana bassiana @2 5 kg/ha Bacillus lhunng,ens1s @
1 5kg/ha, wtth frutl damage of 22.67, 23 96 and 26 03 per cent and frUit y1cld of
42497 0 40855.0 and 39384 0, respecllvely The htghest frUit damage percent
at 21 days after thard insect•cade application was found to be 37 36 per cent
whach was found r-n un:rea:ed control The lowest 'rut: )'iCid of 27.!54 0 ~glha
was also recorded an the untreated control
