Effect of Different Organic and Inorganic Source of Nutrients on Basmati Rice in Rice - Wheat System

| dc.description.abstract | The present study was conducted on clay loam soil at Crop Research Center of S.V. Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut, India, during kharif2013. Ten treatments consisting of control (no fertilizer) 100% RDF (120:60:60 NPK kg ha-1), 125% RDF were studied against combination of organic manures with chemical fertilizer i.e. 50% RDF + VC (vern1i-compost), 50 % RDF + FYM (farm yard manure), 50% RDF +PM (poultry manure), 50% RDF VC + FYM, 50% RDF VC+ PM, 50% RDF + FYM + PM, 50% RDF FYM + PM + VC in Randomize Block Design with three replications. The rice cultivar ofPusa Basmati 1121 was grown in the experiment. The highest yield attribute and yield was recorded with 125 % RDF through inorganic source of nutrient which was statistically similar to the treatment of 50 % RDF + poultry manure and significantly higher than the 100 %b RDF and control. Among the different combination of organic manures with inorganic source of nutrients, the replacement of 50 % RDF with poultry manure recorded significantly higher yield attributes and yield along with higher net return and B:C ratio. The treatments with organic source of nutrients recorded higher nitrogen use efficiency, higher nutrient content and nutrient uptake over 100 % RDF with inorganic fertilizer. On the basis present study, it may be conducted that integrated use of organic source of nutrient can enhance the productivity of rice-wheat system. | |
