An investigation was carried out to study the "Studies on field evaluation of insecticides and hie-pesticides against yellow stem borer (Scirpophaga incertulas) in rice crop" in randomized block design with three replications at Crop Research Centre of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut during Kharif2012. During the crop season, Yell ow stem borer appeared in the first fortnight of March, remained up to ear head emergence in the second fortnight of April on summer crop in all the locations. The incidenceJwere observed from mid July to end of October (Through out crop season) in the form of dead hearts and white ear heads, in the experiment field studied during the year 2012 Kharif season. The treatments used are actamaprid 20SP @ 250 gm/ha, imidacloprid 17.8 EC 25 ml a.i.lha, indoxacarb 14.5 SC 36ml a.i./ha, Jambdacyhalothrin 5 EC @ 25 ml a. i./ha, spinosad 45 SC @ 200 ml/ha, coragen I 8.5 SC @ 150 ml/ha, neem-oil I 500 ppm, Bacillus thuringiensis @ 1.5 Kg./ha. and Trichogramma japonicum@ 100000 egg/ha. Coragen 18.5 SC@ 150 ml/ha recorded lowest per cent dead heart and white ears, followed by lambda-cyhalothrin 5 EC @ 25 ml a.i./ha; indoxacarb 14.5SC 36ml a.i.lha and spinosad 45 SC@ 200 ml/ha. The highest grain yield (43 .90 q/ha) and net profit (Rs.28260/ha) were observed in coragen 18.5 SC treatment, followed by Iambda-cyhalothrin 5 EC (41.62 q/ha and Rs. 23260/ha) and indoxacarb 14.5 SC (39.35 q/ha and Rs. 17185/ha). The highest BC ratio of 6.15 was obtained in coragen I 8.5 SC followed by Iambda-cyhalothrin 5 EC (5 .97) and spinosad 45 SC (4.10). neem-oil 1500 ppm (Rs.1800/ha) recorded lowest net profit and CB ratio (1.2) among the treatments in this trial. Natural enemies population were observed in Trichogramma japonicum @ I 00000 egg/ha treatment, followed by Bacillus thuringiensis @ 1.5 Kg./ha, Neem-oil I 500 ppm, coragen 18.5 SC, spinosad 45 SC, lambda-cyhalothrin 5 EC, imidacloprid 17.8 EC, indoxacarb 14.5 SC and actamaprid 20 SP. for the spiders.
