| dc.description.abstract | To study the "Influence of spentwash (post methanated distillery effluent) on physico-chemical properties of soil with or without rice culture" a pot experiment was conducted during kharif season 2010. Fifteen different treatments e.i. T1- control, Tz- 100% NPK, T3- 50% NPK + 36.0 ml spent wash as pre shown irrigation, T4- 50% NPK + 72.0 ml spent wash as pre shown irrigation, T 5 - 50%.NPK + I 08.0 ml spent wash as pre shown irrigation, T 6- 50% NPK + 36.0 · ml spent wash in three equal split with alternate irrigation, T,- 50% NPK + 72.0 ml spent wash in three equal split with alternate irrigation, T s - 50% NPK + 108.0 ml spent wash in three equal split with alternate irrigation, T9- 100% NPK +Rice culture, T10- 50% NPK + 36.0 ml spent wash as pre shown irrigation + Rice culture, T u - 50% NPK + 72.0 ml spent wash as pre shown irrigation + Rice culture, T12 - 50% NPK + I 08.0 ml spent wash as pre shown irrigation + Rice culture, T13 - 50% NPK + 36.0 ml spent wash in three equal split with alternate irrigation+ Rice culture, T14 - 50% NPK + 72.0 ml spent wash in three equal split with alternate irrigation+ Rice culture and T15 - 50% NPK + 108.0 ml spent wash in three equal split with alternate irrigation+ Rice culture comprising influence of PMDE(post methanated distillery effluent) on soil with or without rice culture were tested in completely randomized design with three replication. The soil of experiment was low in organic carbon and available nitrogen, medium in available phosphorus and potassium having pH 8.22 and sandy loam texture. Distillery spentwash contains all nutrients and organic matter and used in agriculture as a source of pll:lrit nutrients and irrigation water. The effect of different level and methods of spentwash application on soil properties with and without rice crop were examined. The highest biomass yield and better fertility status was observed where 50% NPK + I 08.0 ml PMDE in three splits with alternate irrigation was applied. Organic carbon content and bulk density also improved with effluent application. The uptake ofNPK by rice culture was increases with increasing levels of spentwash when applied in splits than one time application .The mineralization of spentwash was also increases in all rice culture treated treatments than without rice culture treated treatments. The study showed that the PMDE could be used safely as organic fertilizer, however, the electrical conductivity of soil also increased indicating the possibility of salinity development in the long run with higher levels of effluent application. | |
