Abstract
Poultry farming stands at the intersection of global food security, technological innovation,
and sustainable agricultural practices. This thesis explores the transformative role of
biotechnological advancements in fostering entrepreneur development within the poultry
farming sector. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the study investigates the impact of
genetic engineering, disease management strategies, nutritional enhancements, and
sustainable practices on productivity, profitability, and ethical considerations in poultry
production.
The thesis begins with an overview of the historical evolution and economic significance of
poultry farming, highlighting current challenges and opportunities. It delves into
biotechnological innovations, examining their applications in genetic modification, precision
farming technologies, and environmental sustainability practices. Case studies from diverse
geographical regions illustrate successful entrepreneurship models and lessons learned from
integrating biotechnological advancements into poultry farming operations.
Socio-economic impacts, including employment generation, rural development, and income
diversification, are analysed to underscore the broader implications of biotechnological
adoption. Ethical considerations related to animal welfare, consumer perception, and
regulatory frameworks are critically evaluated, emphasizing the importance of responsible
innovation in agribusiness.
Global implications of biotechnological interventions in poultry farming are discussed in
terms of market dynamics, trade relationships, and geopolitical influences. The thesis
concludes with comprehensive recommendations for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and
future research directions aimed at enhancing sustainability, ethical standards, and global
competitiveness in the poultry farming sector.
This thesis contributes to the scholarly discourse on agricultural innovation by synthesizing
empirical research, case studies, and theoretical frameworks. It advocates for a balanced
approach to biotechnological advancements that prioritizes sustainable development goals,
ethical considerations, and inclusive growth in poultry farming.
