Abstract
The present study was carried out during the year 2020-2021, in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar districts of Uttar Pradesh. It was observed that 68.75 per cent flower growers were observed in the middle age category with their ages ranging between 31 to 45 years, 28.75 per cent flower growers were intermediate educational qualification , 67.50 per cent other backward caste, 89.37 per cent married, 52.5. per cent living in joint family system, 63.65 per cent having medium size of family, 84.37 per cent having pacca house, 39.38 per cent flower growers were belonged to marginal farmers category, 63.75 per cent possessed main occupation was agriculture, 68.75 per cent had no membership in any organization, 50.00 per cent flower growers having irrigation rented, 55.00 per cent were belonging to income group of below Rs. 1,00,000, 72.50 per cent of the flower growers had a medium level of scientific orientation, 75.00 per cent had a medium level of economic motivation. In the Uttar Pradesh 2019-20 to 2020-21 trends of area as production has been decline of -6.06 per cent and -1.39 per cent, majority of 53.75 per cent marigold growers were having medium level of knowledge level, majority of 49.37 per cent rose growers having medium level of knowledge, majority of 55.63 per cent marigold growers were having medium level of adoption level, majority of 51.87 per cent rose growers having medium level of adoption level, majority 84.37 per cent flower growers production constraints had unavailability of fertilizers, manures and chemicals at the govt sale center, majority 90.62 per cent flower growers technical constraints had lack of knowledge about chemical application, insect pest disease, majority 96.62 per cent flower growers marketing constraints lack of transport and storage facility, only four variables i.e. education, social participation, size of land holding and mass media exposure had highly significant and positively correlated with the adoption level marigold growers and only three variables i.e. education, mass media exposure and scientific motivation had highly significant and positively correlated with the adoption level rose growers.
